Civics on Trial: Intro to Civic Engagement Workshop

A free one-day workshop from Sustainable Coastlines Hawaiʻi on ways to take part in local decision-making, with concurrent sessions on the Honolulu City Charter amendments on November's ballot, creative and cultural storytelling for civic action, and how a bill gets written. It is held at the King Kamehameha V Judiciary History Center in Aliʻiōlani Hale, 417 S King St downtown, and includes a zero-waste lunch (bring your own reusable container and utensils), workbooks and building tours. Saturday 3 October, 9 am to 3 pm; free, registration required. It is the only civics workshop on our calendar, and lands a month before the 3 November election.
