Every operator running one, with the price per seat, the drink rules and where it actually happens — because on this island the answer is never an address.

There is no paint and sip studio on Oʻahu. There are people who bring one to you.

This is the thing to understand before you search any further, and no other guide says it. Every national paint-and-sip brand has either never come here or has been and gone. Painting with a Twist opened two studios on this island, in Honolulu and ʻAiea, and closed both — their own franchise pages say so in the brand’s own words. Wine & Design’s Honolulu page no longer serves a studio. Paint Nite says on its own site that it has no in-person events within fifty miles of here.

Pinot’s Palette, Muse Paintbar, Board & Brush and AR Workshop have no Hawaiʻi location at all — we checked each of their own store directories rather than assuming.

What works here instead is mobile. Five operators load easels into a van and set up in a hotel ballroom, a brewery, a distillery in Kailua or a golf lounge on Keeaumoku. It is a better model for a small island — no rent, and the drinks are somebody else’s licence — but it means the venue changes every week, and the useful thing to check is a calendar rather than a shopfront.

It also means the drink rules vary by venue rather than by operator. The same company will be BYOB at one hotel and one-drink-minimum at a distillery the following night. Each card below says which.

What a seat actually costs

Every figure read off the operator’s own page or their own booking listing. Where someone publishes no price, we say so instead of repeating a number from an aggregator.

The paint and sip operators

None of these has a shopfront. They travel, and the venue changes week to week — which means the thing to check is not an address but a calendar. Almost all of them run a one-drink minimum at the bar rather than including alcohol.

🎨 Paint Pāʻina

From $45 per person

Turtle Bay sessions are $125. Booked through Viator or Tripadvisor instead the same session resells at around $55, so book direct. Their listings show tiers up to $180 which appear to be multi-seat bundles — we could not confirm what they include.

Drinks.: Not included. Most venues run a one-drink minimum from the bar; Koʻolau Distillery is 21+ with a one-drink minimum and mocktails available. The Twin Fin sessions are the exception — their own listing says "BYOB and bring your own pupus".
Where.: Travels. Regular venues: the Twin Fin Waikīkī, Ritz-Carlton Turtle Bay, Koʻolau Distillery in Kailua, Residence Inn Kapolei, The Shack Mililani, Pizza Press Pearl Highlands, AYA Golf Lounge.
When.: The busiest operator on the island by a distance — twelve-plus sessions in August 2026 alone, roughly twice weekly at Turtle Bay and a rotating circuit elsewhere.
You take home.: Your canvas, plus apron, brushes and supplies included. They will mail the canvas if you are flying home. One session at Pizza Press has you paint a hat instead.
Ages.: Mostly 16+, with younger children admitted alongside a participating adult. Turtle Bay also runs separate Keiki Paint Pāʻina mornings.
Groups.: Sessions cap around 15. Groups of six or more have been given 20% off at some venues. No private rate is published — call or text.
Parking.: Free validated parking at the Twin Fin.

If you want to go to a paint and sip on Oʻahu in the next fortnight, this is almost certainly the answer. Free cancellation up to 24 hours on the Peek bookings.

Before you book. Tripadvisor lists an address for them on Alapio Road in Haleʻiwa. That is not a venue and nothing runs there — always go by the calendar.

🖌️ Paint and Sip Honolulu

The cheapest published seat on the island. "Price includes all painting supplies."

Drinks.: Depends on the venue. The Pakalolo Collective session says plainly "This is BYOB". Elsewhere you are in a bar and buying from it.
Where.: Travels. Recent and upcoming venues: The Hall by Beer Lab HI at Pearlridge, TJ’s Sports Bar and Grill, 1938 Indochine in Kakaʻako, Herringbone in Waikīkī, Pakalolo Collective on Royal Hawaiian Ave.
When.: Two or three sessions a month, usually a Saturday or Sunday, sometimes as a happy-hour slot.
You take home.: Your canvas. Subjects are local — plants, flowers, ocean life, birds, landscapes.

Half the price of everything else here, and the subjects are the most Hawaiʻi-specific of any operator. Gift certificates at $70 and $200, though the site does not say how many seats each buys.

Before you book. Their site publishes a Kalākaua Avenue address with a ZIP from the other side of town, and their /contact and /about pages are dead. It does not appear to be a venue — we have left it out rather than send you to it. The phone number is a California area code.

🍺 The Healing Palette

$50 per person

A $10 food or drink minimum applies at Aloha Beer. Some past sessions have included a welcome beverage and some have not — check the individual event. Couples painting dates $180, party events $450, face painting $225 and up.

Drinks.: You are in a brewery. Buy at the bar; the $10 minimum covers it.
Where.: Monthly public session at Aloha Beer Company, 700 Queen St, Kakaʻako. Travels within 25 miles of Honolulu for private work.
When.: Last Tuesday of the month at Aloha Beer. The next listed is Tuesday 25 August 2026.
You take home.: Your canvas. Two hours and a quarter, all materials and instruction included.
Groups.: Private classes carry a flat $50 surcharge on top of the per-head price, and they will travel up to 25 miles.

Run by Amie Nowell, and the only operator here with a loyalty scheme. All event sales are final, so check the date before you buy.

🚚 Paint Party 808

Publishes no price

Private events need ten people minimum and an $80 deposit to hold the date, with the balance due before the event — or in full if you book inside about a fortnight. No per-person rate is published anywhere.

Drinks.: They publish no alcohol policy — ask.
Where.: Entirely mobile — homes, offices, restaurants and community spaces across Oʻahu.
When.: No public calendar — everything is by arrangement.
You take home.: Your canvas. Canvas size and stretched-canvas upgrades are chosen at booking.
Ages.: Marketed as suitable for all ages.
Groups.: Ten-person minimum. They arrive about an hour early to set up, and clear up afterwards.

The one to ring if you want a session at your own house or office rather than in a bar. Supplies, aprons, setup and cleanup are all included in whatever they quote you.

Before you book. We could find no session dated in 2026 — their listings and posts run to late 2025. The site is complete and the socials are live, so this reads as a quiet booking-led business rather than a closed one, but ring before you plan around it.

🏮 KraftStories — Sip & Paint

$99 per person

Ninety minutes, all materials and tools included, finished work is frame-ready.

Drinks.: BYOB — bring your own bottle.
Where.: 15 N Pauahi St and 941 River St #240, Honolulu, HI 96817 (Chinatown), and mobile for larger groups.
When.: Public sessions seat up to 12 at Pauahi Street, or 30 at River Street.
You take home.: A finished canvas, ready to frame.
Ages.: Adults only, 18+.
Groups.: Private groups from six up to thirty in the studios, and up to three hundred mobile at your own location.

The most expensive seat on this page, and the smallest class, which is the trade you are making.

Disclosure. This is our own studio, and this site is run by the same people. That is exactly why every other operator here carries the same price line and the same caveats — an index that flattered its owner would not be worth reading. If we have something wrong about a competitor, tell us and we will fix it.

Sit-down painting at a fixed address

Two places on the island where you can book a painting session at a known address on a known evening. Both are small, and both need more notice than a mobile session does.

☕ Mirage Art Gallery and Coffee Shop

$49 per person

All paint supplies and instruction included.

Drinks.: They publish no alcohol policy — ask.
Where.: 1425 10th Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96816 (Kaimukī)
When.: Wednesday or Thursday only, 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The café itself is open Tue–Sat 9am–3pm and shut Sunday and Monday.
You take home.: Your canvas.
Groups.: One family or up to five painters at a single table, or three separate tables of two. It is a small room.

A Middle Eastern coffee house — Turkish coffee and smoothies rather than a bar — so treat this as a painting evening rather than a drinking one unless you have asked.

Before you book. Reservations must be confirmed and paid two days in advance, and we found no dated sessions to confirm how often they actually run. Ring first.

🏺 Clay Café Hawaii

Publishes no price

Piece prices and studio fee are not published anywhere on their own site. A third-party aggregator quotes a range; we are not repeating it, because Clay Café does not say it.

Drinks.: They publish no alcohol policy — ask.
Where.: McCully Shopping Center, 2nd Floor, 1960 Kapiolani Blvd #208, Honolulu, HI 96826
When.: Sun, Mon and Thu 10am–6pm · Tue 10am–1pm · Fri and Sat 10am–8pm · Wednesday closed. Last seating is two hours before closing.
You take home.: A glazed and fired ceramic piece, collected later.
Groups.: Reservations take a $25 per table deposit and are recommended for one to twenty painters.

Paint-your-own pottery rather than paint and sip: pick a bisque piece, paint it at the table, leave it to be glazed and fired. Walk-ins are welcome but seats are not guaranteed, so a reservation is worth the deposit.

Before you book. Their own site currently says they are temporarily not offering classes or parties. That is a suspension, not a closure — the studio is open for painting.

Not paint and sip, but what people often mean

Searches for paint and sip surface all of these, and sometimes they are what you actually wanted — throwing paint at a wall, painting a bisque bowl, or pouring resin on the North Shore.

💥 Break’N Anger — Splatter Room

$76 per person for 45 minutes

Rage and splatter combo $146.50 for two hours. Private parties $1,200 for up to fifteen people, $1,600 for sixteen to twenty, three hours with everything included.

Drinks.: Private parties may bring their own drinks and food.
Where.: 1006 Kawaiahaʻo St, Honolulu, HI 96814 — also listed as 1008-A. On the corner of Kawaiahaʻo and Cummins St, Kakaʻako.
When.: Mon and Wed–Fri 4pm–10pm · Sat 12pm–11pm · Sun 12pm–5pm · Tuesday closed.
You take home.: One 9×12 canvas, however it turns out.
Ages.: Five and up. Under-18s need an adult in the building.
Groups.: Ten per standard session. Photo ID and a digital waiver required.

Five bottles of non-toxic acrylic, paint squirt guns, a poncho, shoe covers and a hair cap — then a lounge afterwards. It is the opposite of a careful evening with a wine glass, and for some groups that is the point.

Before you book. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. No slippers, sandals, heels, Crocs or dress flats — they will turn you away.

🌊 Waimea Blue Gallery — resin art

$250 for one person, or $150 each for two or more

That is the hour-long Basic class. Basic II is $300 solo or $250 each for two-plus and runs 90 to 120 minutes. Advanced starts at $500 and is by request.

Where.: 66-250 Kamehameha Hwy D103, Haleʻiwa, HI 96712 (North Shore)
When.: Every class is private — there are no public group sessions. The gallery is open daily 10am–6pm.
You take home.: One 11×14 resin artwork on the Basic class, or two 11×14 plus a 4×12 on Basic II.
Ages.: Thirteen and up; ask them about younger children.
Groups.: Private by default, which is unusual here and worth knowing if you want the room to yourselves.

Pouring resin rather than brushing paint, taught by the gallery’s own artist, Akima Kai. The most expensive thing on this page per head, and the only one on the North Shore.

Four entries, and between them they explain the shape of the whole market. Where a brand says on its own site that a location is closed, we state it flatly. Where the evidence is a review-site flag and a dead page, we say “appears closed” and show you what we found.

Listed somewhere, unconfirmed by us

These surface when you search, and we could not establish enough to put them above. None of them is being called closed — an absence of evidence is not evidence.

Wine and Canvas Hawaii — an Instagram account presents as Wine and Canvas in Kapolei, but we could find no bookable event, price, address or phone, and Hawaiʻi does not appear on the Wine and Canvas corporate location list. Yelp flags it closed; that is a third-party signal, not the operator’s own word, so we are neither listing it as trading nor calling it closed.
Beachside Luxury Picnic & Paint — sells a beachside picnic-and-painting experience through the large booking platforms with 2026 dates live. We have not verified a price from their own page, so we are not printing one.
Drag Queen Sip and Paint Honolulu — a live Eventbrite listing on Kūhiō Ave, 21+, one drink minimum, cash only. The only specific date we could pin was in 2024, so we cannot confirm it is currently running.
Oahu Bright Lab (2804 E Manoa Rd) and Rainbow Art Studio Hawaii (4348 Waialae Ave #200) — both trading and both listed under children’s activities. Whether either runs an adult drink-and-paint session is unconfirmed.

Every one of these turns up in a search for a paint and sip here. Between them they have cost people a lot of wasted planning, and one of them is in Texas.

A national franchise whose name misleads. We could not confirm any Oʻahu studio exists.

How this was checked

Prices are why anyone opens a page like this, so they are the field we worked hardest on and the one we refuse to guess at. Every figure came off the operator’s own page or their own booking listing on 2026-08-13. Two operators publish no per-seat price at all, and their cards say exactly that — there is an aggregator quoting a Clay Café price range that Clay Café does not publish anywhere, and we are not passing it on.

Two things we found and deliberately left out. Paint Pāʻina’s listings show a range up to $180 and the upper tiers are very likely multi-seat bundles, but their event pages sit behind a bot wall and we could not confirm it, so the entry says $45 and flags the rest. And one operator publishes a street address whose postcode belongs to the other side of the island; rather than print a wrong address or quietly correct one, we left it out and listed the venues they actually run at.

Booking direct is worth doing. The same Paint Pāʻina session that costs $45 direct resells at around $55 through the big travel platforms — you are paying a booking fee for a class that happens a twenty-minute drive from you.

One disclosure, and it is on the card as well: KraftStories is our own studio and this site is run by the same people. That is precisely why every competitor here carries the same price line, the same drink note and the same caveats. Our verification standards cover the rest.
