This site is free, has nothing for sale and no accounts to create, so most of what a terms page normally contains does not apply. What is left is short, and two parts of it are worth actually reading: the listings can be wrong, and we own one of the studios we list.
Local Hawaii Events is a free index of creative classes, workshops and events on Oʻahu, published as a website and as an app for iPhone and Android. It is run by KraftStories, 15 N Pauahi St, Honolulu, HI 96817.
Using either one means you accept what is on this page. It is free, there is nothing to buy, and there is no account to create — so if you disagree with any of it, closing the tab or deleting the app is a complete remedy.
Every price, date and opening time here was read off the venue’s own website on a date we publish at the top of the page. Venues change things without telling anybody. A class fills, a studio moves, a market is cancelled for weather.
So: we do not warrant that any listing is accurate or current, and you should confirm with the venue before you drive across the island, spend money, or make plans that matter. Where a venue does not publish something, we say so rather than guessing — but an honest gap is still a gap.
We are not the organiser of anything listed here unless the listing says it is ours. We do not take bookings on anyone’s behalf, we do not handle anyone’s money, and we are not party to whatever happens between you and a venue.
KraftStories is a craft studio in Chinatown, and it is ours. It appears on this site the same way every other studio does, at the same prices it charges on its own booking page, and it is labelled as ours everywhere it appears.
Nobody pays to be listed, ranked higher, or written about more warmly. There is no paid placement and there are no affiliate links on listings. If that ever changes it will be disclosed before it appears anywhere.
Read it, use it, send it to people, quote it with a link back. That is what it is for.
What we ask you not to do: scrape it wholesale to build a competing listing, republish substantial parts of it as your own, or hit the servers hard enough to degrade them for other people. If you want the data for something, ask — the answer is often yes.
The written guides, the editorial judgements and the site design are ours. Venue names, logos and photographs belong to the venues, and appear here to identify what they are.
You can submit a class or an event. Doing so means you have the right to send us what you sent, and you give us permission to publish, edit and shorten it here and in the app.
We check submissions against the venue’s own website before publishing, and we may decline anything we cannot verify, anything that is not a real class or event on Oʻahu, or anything that turns out to be an advertisement wearing a listing’s clothes.
The app can send alerts about things you asked to be told about. You choose which topics, you can turn any of them off at any time, and nothing arrives between 9pm and 7am.
We cannot promise a notification will always arrive or arrive on time. Delivery runs through Apple and Google, and neither guarantees it. Do not rely on an alert as the only thing standing between you and a registration deadline.
This site links out constantly — that is most of its value. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for what is on them, and a link is not an endorsement of anything beyond the fact that the venue exists and publishes what we said it publishes.
The site and app are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this site or app — a wasted trip, a missed class, a booking that did not exist. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page is when they last changed, and the current version is always the one here. Substantive changes will be flagged rather than slipped in.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, United States. Any dispute arising from them will be brought in the state or federal courts sitting in Honolulu, Hawaii, and you and we both agree to that.
These terms are between you and KraftStories only. Apple and Google are not parties to them and are not responsible for the app or its content. Apple is, however, entitled to enforce these terms as a third-party beneficiary of them. If the app does not work, the store is not who you complain to — we are, at hello@kraftstories.com.
