Food for Thought: a Reading of Culinary Pleasure & Politics
About
An evening of readings about what we eat and what it says about culture and power, from Ligaya Mishan (chief restaurant critic of The New York Times and author of Filipinx), Aya Hirata Kimura (Fermenting for the Future) and poet Chandanie Somwaru (the forthcoming Rude Gyal), with a short Q&A and refreshments afterwards. Thursday 5 November, 6 to 8 pm, at OurSpace, the nonprofit makerspace at 1052 Waimanu St in Kakaʻako; general admission is free with an optional donation, RSVP on Zeffy. It is the next instalment of the Mixing Innovative Arts (MIA) Honolulu reading series, which held its ghost-story night at the same space on 8 October.
