Move

About

Move is a participatory dance and movement show for the youngest theatregoers from Honolulu Theatre for Youth, directed by Danica Rosengren and choreographed by Reiko Ho with the HTY Ensemble. The company describes it as a celebration of how bodies dance, squiggle, wiggle and giggle, and it asks how the world shapes movement and how movement reshapes the world. It was created with Capitol Modern, the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum, and Emily Wright and Samuel Bui perform. Public performances are Saturday, October 3 at 10:30 am, Sunday, October 11 at 2 pm and Sunday, October 25 at 2 pm. The page recommends it for ages 3 and up, at a preschool and kindergarten level. A running time is not printed. Our calendar lists tickets at $15–$30. The show page itself prints no price and sends buyers to Eventbrite, so check there for current availability and tiers. HTY performs at Tenney Theatre, 229 Queen Emma Square in Downtown Honolulu. On our calendar Move is the second HTY show of the season, after Anime Momotaro, and Joseph Kekuku and the Voice of the Steel Guitar was listed on October 10. According to Coyote opens November 7.
