Tales of the Sun & Moon
About
Tales of the Sun & Moon is an epic steampunk adventure from Honolulu Theatre for Youth that celebrates celestial myths and legends from Hawaiʻi, China and Korea. It weaves in astronomy and movement inspired by traditional Asian theatre forms. The page says the show is returning to Tenney Theatre for a limited run before a national tour. Reiko Ho wrote and directed it, and Serina Dunham, Annie Lokomaikaʻi Lipscomb and Emily Wright perform. The single public performance is Sunday, January 10, 2027 at 2:00 pm. HTY recommends it for ages 5 and up. A running time and content notes are not printed. Our calendar lists tickets at $15–$30. The show page prints no price and links to Eventbrite for public tickets, so check there for availability. Tenney Theatre is at 229 Queen Emma Square in Downtown Honolulu. On the same Sunday, the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra performs Beethoven's Ode to Joy on our calendar, so families can look at both. HTY's next production after this one is Listen, which opens January 23, 2027, and the company's season on our calendar began with Anime Momotaro in September.
