Into the Woods
About
Into the Woods is the Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine musical that tangles several fairy tales together, and Diamond Head Theatre stages it from January 22 to February 7, 2027. Bryce Chaddick directs and Jenny Shiroma is musical director, according to the theatre's audition announcement. The season page does not print individual performance days, curtain times or a running time, so check the box office listing before you plan your evening. The page gives no age rating for this show. It does say the theatre strongly recommends that children under five stay home unless a show is billed as toddler-friendly, and it warns that some productions contain mature content, language or themes. Tickets are listed at $39 to $66, with a $2 processing fee per ticket on single-ticket phone and online orders. No kamaʻāina, senior or student discounts are printed on the page. The theatre is at 520 Makapuʻu Avenue in Honolulu, near Kapiʻolani Park. The page says there is a lot behind the building off Alohea Avenue, plus parking across the street at Kapiʻolani Community College, whose lot entrance is at Makapuʻu and Alohea. On our calendar this is the third Diamond Head Theatre show of the season, after Fiddler on the Roof and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Suffs follows on March 12. Honolulu Theatre for Youth opens Listen on January 23, the day after this one opens.
