Listen

About

Listen is an original interactive show for the very youngest audiences from Honolulu Theatre for Youth, built around the grooves and sounds of Hawaiʻi. Children are invited to play and explore rather than sit still. Jarren Amian and Mattea Mazzella, two of HTY's resident composer-musicians, created and perform it. Public performances are Saturday, January 23 at 10:30 am, Sunday, January 31 at 2 pm and Sunday, February 7 at 2 pm. The page does not print the year, but it belongs to the 2026–27 season and our calendar dates the run January 23 to February 7, 2027. HTY recommends it for ages 3 and up, at a preschool and kindergarten level. A running time is not printed. Our calendar lists tickets at $15–$30. The show page prints no price and links to Eventbrite for public tickets. Performances are at Tenney Theatre, 229 Queen Emma Square in Downtown Honolulu. Tales of the Sun & Moon plays there on January 10, and Heartstrings follows on February 20. The final Sunday, February 7, is also the closing day for Into the Woods at Diamond Head Theatre and Purpose at Manoa Valley Theatre on our calendar.
