About
Wednesday mornings, 9 to noon, at Hoʻoulu ʻĀina, the 100-acre nature preserve at the back of Kalihi Valley run by Kōkua Kalihi Valley: reforesting the slopes, tending the food forest and lāʻau lapaʻau gardens with the Mahi ʻĀina, Koa ʻĀina and Lāʻau Kū Makani crews. Free and open to everyone from keiki to kūpuna; capped at 15 volunteers, so book through their get-started page. Boots and clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and bring your own pick, shovel, ʻōʻō or machete if you have one. The only forest-restoration workday we list within Honolulu city limits.
