Small Kine Cleanup at James Campbell Refuge

Sustainable Coastlines Hawaiʻi runs its Small Kine Cleanup on the second Thursday of every month, 9am to noon, at the James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge in Kahuku. "Small kine" is the point — these are deliberately smaller crews than the big Saturday cleanups, which means you actually get shown what you are picking up and why the refuge shoreline collects what it does. The refuge is closed to general public access most of the year, so a cleanup slot is one of the few ways onto that stretch of coast. Free, but you have to register in advance and spaces are limited.
