Introduction to Figure Drawing (winter)

About

Introduction to Figure Drawing is a Sunday workshop at Zwick Academy of Fine Art, 1109 Maunakea Street, Honolulu. Students build a foundation through master copies, photo reference and live models, exploring proportion, gesture, construction, value and form. They learn measuring techniques, including sight size and a visual impression approach, anatomical landmarks and a step-by-step construction method, and cover head construction and portraiture. The work includes small graphite line drawings and charcoal full-value drawings for a portfolio. Classes run Sundays from 4 to 7 p.m., January 10 through February 28, 2027. The page describes eight three-hour classes in the schedule but calls it a 10-class workshop in the body text, so confirm the number with the academy. All skill levels are welcome. No minimum age or instructor name is printed. A materials list is linked, and no supply fee is stated. The price is $450.00, with no payment plans printed, and enrollment is confirmed upon completion of payment. Call the academy on 808-938-3861. For other figure work in Honolulu, the Honolulu Museum of Art School lists Figure Drawing starting October 16 at $325, and Zwick itself lists Construction Drawing and Artistic Anatomy from November 7 at $380.
