About
Minami Cheever's hand-building class at the Hawaii Potters' Guild, Friday mornings 9 to noon, across the twelve-week autumn term to 8 November. Hand-building is the route into clay that does not involve the wheel at all — pinch, coil and slab — and it is the honest answer for anyone who has tried throwing, hated it, and assumed pottery was not for them. Slab work also makes the flat things a wheel cannot: platters, tiles, boxes. Beginners welcome.
