The Custom Rug Tufting Workshop at KraftStories Honolulu is a Chinatown class where you design a rug, tuft it on a frame with a professional tufting gun, then glue the back and trim the pile with electric shears. You leave with the finished rug the same day. KraftStories is the studio that publishes this site. No experience is needed. Bring your own idea, or pick one of the studio's Hawaiʻi-inspired stencils, which is projected onto your frame so you can trace it. The booking page says all materials, tools and step-by-step guidance from an instructor are included, and that the live workshop runs 2.5 hours. It is for ages 15 and up. The page prints $119 a person, marked down from $139, with no other tiers. Kamaʻāina get 10% off with a Hawaiʻi ID at check-in. The booking page loads live availability, so check it for current dates. Public bookings can be cancelled up to 2 days ahead; private groups book a session of their own.
