Relief Printmaking
About
Relief Printmaking is a ten-session course at the Honolulu Museum of Art School, 1111 Victoria Street, Honolulu, taught by teaching artist Paul Galang. Students design an image, carve it into linoleum and hand-print it with inks in a variety of colors, experimenting with texture, contrast and composition along the way. The class includes weekly demonstrations, guided studio time and visits to the Museum. Classes meet Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, October 17 through December 19, 2026. The course is for ages 16 and up and is listed for all skill levels, so beginners and students with prior experience are both supported. No prerequisites are stated, and the page lists no separate materials fee. The price is $330, with no member or tiered pricing printed. The page shows registration as closed (it closed on October 3), so ask the school whether a place is available before you plan around it. If you are choosing between print classes, the same school's other fall listings on this calendar include Intaglio on Thursday evenings from October 8 at $330 and Screenprinting Next Steps on Saturday afternoons from October 17. Short one-evening Gelli plate workshops follow on November 20 and December 4, and again on January 8.
