Jurassic Oʻahu
Where Jurassic Park, Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom filmed on Oʻahu, and how to see each place.
Most of the 1993 Jurassic Park shoot was on Kauaʻi. Oʻahu got one of its best-known scenes: the Gallimimus flock running across Kaʻaʻawa Valley, with Grant and the kids hiding behind a log. Jurassic Park III used Dillingham Airfield as the airstrip on Isla Sorna. Jurassic World (2015) and Fallen Kingdom (2018) then used the island heavily for Isla Nublar.
The valleys are on Kualoa Ranch, which is private land. The only way in is a ranch tour, and the tours show different things, so pick one before you book. Everything else here is public: a convention center lobby, a zoo, a museum hangar at Pearl Harbor, a harbor, a state park and a few beaches and lookouts.
The Lost World (1997) shot its Hawaiʻi scenes on Kauaʻi rather than Oʻahu. The later films, Dominion (2022) and Rebirth (2025), were made away from Hawaiʻi.

Can you visit the Jurassic Park valley without a tour?
No. Kaʻaʻawa Valley is inside Kualoa Ranch, a private working ranch, and you can only get in on one of its tours. Kualoa Regional Park next door is free and looks up at the same cliffs.
Which Kualoa Ranch tour is best for Jurassic fans?
The Jurassic Adventure tour (2.5 hours, $149.95 for adults) covers the most: the Jurassic Park log, the Gallimimus field, the Gyrosphere station, the Fallen Kingdom bunker and the Indominus rex paddock. The Movie Sites & Ranch tour (1.5 hours, $59.95) is cheaper and still stops at the log, with the Godzilla footprints on the same drive.
Is the log from Jurassic Park still there?
There is a log at the spot in Kaʻaʻawa Valley, and guides stop there for photos. It is a replacement for the one in the film, not the original.
Where is the end of Jurassic World filmed?
The reunion at the end was filmed in Hangar 79 at the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum on Ford Island. You can visit it with a museum ticket, using the shuttle from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center.
